San Leandro-is it safe? (San Francisco, Oakland: sales, crimes, home) - San Francisco - Oakland - California (CA) - Page 4 - City-Data Forum

San Leandro has a similar crime rate to it's neighboring communities. Oakland's is higher, San Lorenzo is about the same, Castro Valley's is similar, Alameda's is only slightly less.

It will be more or less about neighborhoods than the city itself. I used to live there, and the neighborhoods that were good then were: Broadmoor, Estudillo Estates, Bay-o-Vista, and down by the Marina. IMO, no matter where you live, try to stay away from areas where there are lots of apartments.
