Toddler Clothes Sizes Driving Me Nuts | What to Expect

Sure, the disparity in the 24 month sizes isn't that large, but it's at the 2T level that this becomes a problem. All the other stores use 24 months and 2T interchangeably, as most people would naturally assume they are. For Carter's/Osh Kosh and Gymboree, however, there's a huge difference between the 24 month clothes and the 2T sizes. The weights are generally the same, but the lengths are very, very different. There's a huge difference between a child who is 31 inches tall and one that is 34 inches tall [which calls into question how Children's Place can service that whole range in one size, but whatever.... Guess that explains a lot about the fit of my daughter's clothes....].

I'm beginning to understand now how my child can have jeans hanging up on identical hangers and in "identical" sizes, but have two to three inches of difference between the shortest pair and the longest. Her clothes have come from all five of these stores. Until she's out of the 34 inch range, I suppose my best bet is to stick with the devils I know (other than that one devil I am currently boycotting). God forbid I get confused one day at Carter's and pick up a 2T pair of slacks mistakenly thinking they won't be too long or one at Gymboree, which is certain to fall off her narrow frame...
